Austin Cheng

President, EVA Air

Austin Cheng is president of EVA Air. In this role, he gives the carrier far-reaching benefits of his more than 20 years of airline industry and global transportation experience.

Cheng joined the Evergreen Group in 1984, starting in the Business Department for EVA Air’s sister company, Evergreen Marine Corporation. He transferred to EVA Air in 1992, the airline’s second year of service, and proceeded to successfully fulfill roles with steadily increasing responsibilities.

Cheng gained international experience and perspective as manager in Vienna, station general manager in Paris and Senior Vice President in charge of the America Head Office in Los Angeles where he oversaw passenger and airfreight services nationwide. As Executive Vice President, he led EVA’s Project Division with extensive responsibilities for planning and operations in almost every area of the airline’s business. He took the reins as EVA president in early 2013.
